Naprosyn is effective medicine prescribed to patients who have osteoarthritis, arthritis and juvenile arthritis, bursitis and tendonitis, ankylosing or acute gout. Naprosyn is recommended in cases of primary dysmenorrhea or juvenile rheumatoid. It also relieves effectively mild to moderate pain.

Naprosyn comes in normal tablets, extended tablets or liquid form for oral administration. If you have arthritis, take one pill twice a day. Patients who have gout should take one pill every 8 hours. If Naprosyn is used as pain reliever, one pill should be taken every 6-8 hours. Take Naprosyn according the prescription of your doctor. Do not take Naprosyn more often or in larger amounts than prescribed. Do not discontinue the treatment at your own account or do not take for longer period than prescribed. If you have gastritis or chronic stomach upset, take the Naprosyn tablet after meal or with a glass of milk in order to avoid irritation or pain.

Strictly follow the doze schedule prescribed by your doctor. Only in this way the treatment would be effective. Take the missed Naprosyn dose as soon as you remember or skip it if it`s almost time for the next dose. Do not double dose to make it for the missed one. It could be harmful or at least provoke side effects.

Naprosyn tablets and liquid suspension should be kept at room temperature, away form direct heat or moisture and in tightly closed containers. Keep the medicine away of reach of children. Do not store outdated or no longer needed packings of Naprosyn.

If you suspect that you have taken more Naprosyn pills than recommended or observe any unusual symptoms, immediately contact your doctor. The most common Naprosyn overdose symptoms include: seizures; nausea or vomiting; drowsiness or dizziness; indigestion. If you observe any of the listed symptoms, stop taking Naprosyn and immediately contact your doctor or seek emergency medical help.

Avoid drinking alcohol during the Naprosyn therapy. The combination between alcohol and Naprosyn increases the risk of severe stomach upset and could be harmful. If you are undergoing therapy with other medication, consult with your doctor before taking Naprosyn. Combine Naprosyn with other drugs only under the supervision of your doctor. Naprozyn may cause drowsiness so avoid driving, operating heavy machinery or performing activities that require full concentration before you have experienced the effect of the drug on you. Naprosyn may increase the sensitivity of your skin to sunlight. Avoid long exposure to direct sunlight or sun lamps during the Naprosyn therapy. Always wear protective clothing and use lotions with high sun protection factor

Safety Information

Although Naprosyn is proven safe drug, the treatment should be conformed with your overall health condition and history of diseases. Naprosyn may be contra-indicated for you if you have liver or kidney disease; heart problems; blood pressure disorder; allergy toward aspirin or any other NSAIDs; bleeding disorder; ulcer or stomach bleeding; fluid retention; alcoholic or drugs dependency. Naprosyn is in the FDA pregnancy category B which means that it is not known whether the drug will harm your unborn baby. It is proven that Naprosyn influences the structure of the breast milk. If you intend to have a baby, you are pregnant or breast-feeding, consult with your doctor before taking Naprosyn.

Side Effect

Naprosyn provokes side effects rarely. The group of the most serious side effects include: allergic reaction; seizures; bloody vomiting; yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice); muscle cramps, numbness or tingling in the upper or lower limbs; ulcer or severe stomach upset; rapid weight gain or loss; ringing in the ears or decreased hearing ability; indigestion. If you experience any of the listed symptoms, stop taking Naprosyn and immediately contact your doctor. The less disturbing side effects are drowsiness or dizziness; headache; muscle fatigue; nausea, vomiting or constipation; menstrual period disorder; dry mouth. These symptoms should away by themselves in a couple of days. If they do not disappear or worsen, stop taking Naprosyn and consult with your doctor.
