Drug Uses
Xenical drug is used, when the patient wants to loose weight and keep it off. Not all the fat you eat is well absorbed by the organism and it result in weight gain. Combine Xenical medicine with reduced-calorie diet for best results. Xenical blocks the one third of fat in the food from being absorbed, so the undigested fat is reduced three times less. The effect of this drug lasts as long as you are taking it.
How Taken
Xenical comes in a capsule to take it orally. It is usually taken tree times a day with food. Take Xenical exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor. Xenical should be given with meals. A diet consisting of daily intake of fat (30% of total calories), carbohydrates, and protein should be distributed evenly over 3 main meals.
Before start taking Xenical, advise your doctor about your medical history. If your doctor considers it is proper for you, he will prescribe you special dosage adjustment. The usual dose is one capsule from 120mg at each meal, three times a day. By each meal, the fat in the food must not exceed 30% of calories of fat. Divide all the carbohydrates, proteins and fat evenly to your three meals.
Missed Dose
If it happens to miss a dose from Xenical, take it with the next meal. If the time for the next meal and dose has come, take only one capsule of Xenical. Overdosing can not increase the effect of it.
Storage
Leave Xenical in its original packing. Keep away from moisture and heat. Keep at a controlled room temperature up to 25°C (77°F). Throw away when it is out of date.
Overdose
Seek emergency medical attention. Symptoms of a Xenical overdose are not known.
Cases of overdose with Xenical have not been reported. If you suspect overdose, look for medical attention or go to the local poison center.
More Information
It is recommended during treatment with Xenical to accept multivitamins in addition. The vitamins should be taken about 2 hours before or after taking Xenical, but only once a day. Choose vitamins which contain substances as beta –carotene, Vitamin D, E, K. The medicine decreases your body absorption and fat –soluble vitamins as well. Xenical can not help you to lose weight, if it is not accompanied by proper diet. Fur further advice consult with your doctor.

Warnings/Precautions
Take Xenical if only prescribed by your doctor. You are not supposed to take this drug if you suffer from malabsorption syndrome or gallbladder problems. Advise your medical provider if you have history in kidney diseases, kidney stones, anorexia, bulimia, diabetes or if you take another drug for weigh-loss. Under these circumstances, you may not be able to take Xenical, or require special dosage adjustment and monitoring during treatment. It is possible during treatment with Xenical to experience side effects. Before starting this drug, ask your doctor for special dosage adjustment corresponding to your health condition. If you experience any of the symptoms listed below, stop taking Xenical and look for medical assistance: allergic reaction accompanied by swelling of the lips, tongue, hives and breathe shortness. Other side effects like stomach upset are likely to happen until your body get used to the drug. They are oily spotting, gas with discharge; more often visits to the bathroom, inability to control bowel movements, brown or orange oil in your stool and others. These should not bother you, because they will disappear during treatment. The side effects are consequences of blocking fat and reaction of Xenical.
