Product Description
Drug Uses
Retin-A improves the skin by producing mild superficial peel of the outer skin layer called epidermis. It also has positive effect on the deeper layer of the skin called dermis. Retin-A protects the skin from the aging effect of the sun lights by stimulating the replacement and renovation of the epidermal cells.
How Taken
Cover your face with a thin layer of Retin-A once a day at bed time. Apply the medicine with soft gauze or cotton tampon. Make sure that Retin-A won`t get near the eyes, mouth or irritated skin zones.Wash your hands immediately after using the medicine. You will observe improvement of your skin after 3 to 6 weeks after the first application. Keep the prescriptions of your dermatologist and do not apply Retin-A more frequently or in bigger amounts than recommended. You will only provoke side effects without achieving the desired results.
Missed Dose
Follow the prescriptions of your doctor, only in this way the treatment would be effective. Apply the missed Retin-A dose as soon as you remember or skip it if it`s almost time for the next dose. Do not double dose to make it for the missed one. It could provoke side effects.
Storage
Keep Retin-A in dry and cool place, at room temperature. Keep away of reach of children. Do not store outdated or no longer needed packings of Retin-A.
Overdose
The overdose symptoms of Retin-A are not properly studied. If you apply more Retin-A than recommended you may observe warming, stinging, reddening or peeling of the skin. In general the overdosing with retinoid medicines could cause headache, stomach upset, drowsiness or dizziness, facial flushing. If you experience any of the mentioned symptoms, stop applying Retin-A and immediately consult with your dermatologist.
More Information
Retin-A is contra-indicated in patients who have recently undergone keratolytic therapy or exfoliation procedures. In such case Retina-A could be used only after the skin rashes and irritations have disappeared.
Retin-A should be applied only when absolutely necessary and always under doctor`s supervision in patients who are pregnant or intend to have a baby. It is not known whether the medicine influences the structure of the breast milk. If you are breast-feeding, consult with your doctor before applying Retin-A.
Safety Information
Warnings/Precautions
Retina-A may increase your skin`s sensitivity to sunlight, wind and cold. The direct exposure to sunlight or sunlamps is not recommended during the Retin-A therapy. However if you decide to expose to sun, always wear protective clothes and use creams with high sun protection factor.
If you are undergoing anti-acne therapy, consult with your dermatologist whether Retin-A is appropriate for you. During the Retina-A treatment avoid the scrubbing face soaps which contain abrasive particles. They may increaser the skin irritation.
Side Effect
Possible Side Effects
If you are allergic toward any of the ingredients of Retin-A, do not apply the medicine and consult with your dermatologist. The most common side effect of Retin-A is the skin irritation. Don`t panic if you observe this symptom during the first week of the treatment. The skin irritation is a normal reaction because the medicine eliminates intensively small cysts deep within the skin layers. This symptom should fade away by itself in a couple of days. If it worsens, stop applying Retin-A and consult with your dermatologist immediately.
