Skelaxin drug belongs to the group of muscle relaxants. It relieves muscle pain and spasms. It is also prescribed in case of injuries, strains, stiffness and sprains as a result from physical activity.

Skelaxin drug comes in a shape of tablets from 400mg, orally taken. The usual dose from Skelaxin is two tablets total 800mg, three or four times per day for adults and children over the age of 12 years. In case your doctor prescribes you special dosage adjustment, different from the common case, follow it. Better take this medicine on a full stomach in order to avoid stomach upset. Do not increase or lower your dose at once, do it gradually to avoid side effects. Do not take more or less than prescribed by your doctor.

In case it happens to miss your regular Skelaxin dose, take it as soon as you remember it within 1 hour. If the time for the next one has already come, take only one of the doses and do not overdose.

For best storage keep Skelaxin at a room temperature between 59 and 86 ° F (15 and 30 °C). Keep away from the reach of children. Keep away from heat and moisture.

Do not take more doses than prescribed of Skelaxin. Overdosing may lead to extreme dizziness and drowsiness, lack of orientation and unconsciousness. If you suspect overdose, go immediately to the nearest poison center and call your doctor.

During treatment with Skelaxin use alcohol and other drugs cautiously. Skelaxin may interfere on your daily duties by making you dizzy, drowsy and less active than usual. It is recommended to avoid operating with machines, perform hazard activities until you know how this drug reacts on you.

Safety Information

Before you start taking Skelaxin drug, advise with your doctor about your medical history. Do not take this medicine if you suffer from acute intermittent porphyria and require monitoring if you have liver disease. If you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant or you are breast feeder, better do not take Skelaxin. There is no information if this drug harms an unborn baby. Do not take it if you are under the age of 12 years.

Side Effect
