If you are suffering from acid related stomach problems, ulcers, erosive esophagitis, heartburn or Zollinger Ellison Syndrome, Prilosec medicine will help you. Sometimes Prilosec goes along with certain antibiotics as clarithromycin, amoxicillin in some cases of ulcers.

Your doctor will advise you about proper dosage of Prilosec corresponding to your health condition. Prilosec is produces as 20mg capsules as well as 20mg tablets. Take Prilosec once per day for 14 days, before meal. Take the dose at once, do not crash, deride or chew it. If it is recommended repeat the 14 days treatment course every 4 months.

Try not to miss your daily dose. If it happens, take it as soon as you remember it. Do not overdose by trying to catch up. If it is time for your regular dose, take only one of it.

Keep Prilosec in its original packing at a controlled temperature between 15 and 30°C (59–86°F). Keep out of the reach of children. Protect from heat, moisture and direct light.

Do not overdose. Overdosing can not increase the effect of Prilosec. The possible overdose symptoms might be blurred vision, irregular heartbeat, seizures, confusion, unusual sweating and other. If you consider overdose contact your doctor immediately and visit the local poison center.

Before you start treatment with Prilosec, advise your doctor about your medical history. You may not be suitable for this treatment in case you are having occasional heartburn, want immediate relief of heartburn or you have episodes of heartburn a week or less. Prilosec must not be combines with some drugs, tell you doctor what are you taking at the moment. For best results you should pass the whole treatment course.

Safety Information

If you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant during treatment or you are breast-feeder, tell you doctor before start taking Prilosec. If it not known is this drug may harm an unborn baby and passes into the breast milk. Prilosec may not be appropriate for you in case of kidney problems, stomach tumors or heart disease. Your doctor will advise you what is best for your health condition.

Side Effect

During treatment with Prilosec it is possible for you to experience any side effects. They are more likely to be stomachache, nausea, changes in the appetite, dizziness, drowsiness, sudden headache and others. Your body will need time to get used to the medicine. Other possible conditions are cough, chest pain, nervousness, sleepiness, excessive thirst, ringing in the ears, sudden fatigue, loss of hair and others. If you notice something strange and bothersome about yourself, call immediately your doctor and require medical support.
