Detrol LA medicine is prescribed for patients, who experience overactive bladder with symptoms of urgent and frequently urinary incontinence. This medicine comes as tablets and capsules with once daily extended release.

Before start taking Detrol LA, ask you doctor for appropriate dosage and if this medicine is suitable for you, considering your medical history. You can choose between Detrol LA in tablets or capsules with extended release. The tablet is taken twice a day; the capsule is taken once per day. Take Detrol LA with water, and do not split, chew or crush the dose. Follow precisely your doctor` s instructions and do not take more or less of Detrol LA than prescribed.

In case it happens to miss your regular dose, take it as soon as you can. If the time for the next scheduled reception has come, take only one dose and do not overdose by trying to catch up.

For best storage, keep Detrol LA at a room temperature from 20° to 25° C (68° to 77° F). Keep away from moisture and direct light. Keep away from children.

Do not overdose. If you suspect overdosing with Detrol LA seek medical attention immediately. There are not registered cases of overdose, so the possible side effects may be listed as irritability, hallucinations, flushing, restlessness, tremor, fever, nausea, and vomiting, fast heartbeat or even coma. If you experience any of these symptoms, call your doctor or visit the local poisoning center.

During treatment with Detrol LA, it is recommended to drink more liquids, because this medicine decreases sweating and can cause dehydration. Avoid extreme heat and stuffy places. Detrol LA causes dizziness, drowsiness, blurred vision. When you drive, operate with machines and perform any hazardous activities, be more cautious. It is advisable to drink alcohol when taking Detrol LA.

Safety Information

You are not supposed to take Detrol LA in you suffer any of the conditions listed below: liver or kidney disease, glaucoma, blockage of the urinary tract. In case you are allowed to take Detrol LA beside of these diseases, you may need special dosage adjustment and constant monitoring during treatment. Follow your doctor’s prescription very carefully and do not overdose. Detrol LA belongs to FDA category C and it is not known if can be harmful to an unborn baby. Side Effect

During treatment with Detrol LA are possible side effects to occur. There are registered as different allergic reactions, swelling of the face, tongue and throat, dry mouth, blurred vision, large pupils, dryness of the eyes, stomach upset, constipation, headache, drowsiness, dizziness, difficult urinating and other. Some of the side effects require immediate stop of the treatment, and others just require special dosage adjustment and monitoring.
