Drug Uses


Zyloprim also known as Allopurinol is prescribed to patients with goat and patients with calcium kidney stones and high amounts of uric acid in the urine. Zyloprim is also used for treatment of high levels of uric acid in the blood or urine, mainly caused by chemotherapy. Other usages of this medicine are also possible, determined by your health provider.


How Taken


Zyloprim drug comes as in a shape of tablets – 100mg and 300mg Scored tablets. Follow your doctor`s prescription presicly, because it suits to your health condition. In order to avoid stomach upset, take Zyloprim on a full stomach. Take extra fluids during treatment. The full effect of the medicine might be felt from 2nd to 6th week. Do not stop taking Zyloprim even if you start feeling better until your treatment course is fully realized.


Missed Dose


If it happens to miss your daily dose Zyloprim, take is as soon as you can. If the time for the next scheduled one has already come, take only one dose. Do not overdose by trying to catch up. To achieve best results try not to miss doses.


Storage


Keep Zyloprim in its original packing. Keep away from heat, moisture and direct light. The best temperature for storage is from 68 to 77 °F (20 – 25 °C). Keep out of the reach of children.


Overdose


There are not registered cases of overdose with Zyloprim. If you suspect overdose call your doctor immediately and look for medical attention. Overdose symptoms are not known.

You may need another medicine called colchicines to help you with these attacks. You may have lab tests during treatment to check your uric acid levels, kidney and liver function to monitor your health condition during treatment. Do not use Zyloprim for relieving an acute gout attack.

During treatment with Zyloprim it is likely to experience side effects. They might be diarrhea, nausea, allergic reaction (swelling of the l lips, tongue, difficult breathing, itching, rash, hives), blood in the urine, dark urine, fever, chest pain and joint pain, changes in the appetite, skin irritation(red, swollen, with blister, peeling skin), weight changes, unusual bleeding and bruising, yellowing of the skin or eyes, sudden weakness and muscle pain.
