How Taken
Lexapro is taken only under prescription. Your doctor will decide the proper dose for you and your schedule of taking Lexapro. This medicine is available as a liquid and as a tablet. Choose which one suits you better. In common cases Lexapro is taken once a day, at the same time. It is not considered to irritate your stomach. This medicine can not be stopped at once. Missed Dose
Try not to miss your daily dose during treatment with Lexapro. In case it happens, take the missed dose as soon as you can on the very same day. If the other day has already come, take only one dose. Do not overdose by trying to catch up.
Storage

Overdose
Do not overdose with Lexapro. Overdosing can not increase the effect of it. If you suspect overdose, contact immediately your doctor or visit the local poison center. The expected symptoms of overdose include vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, excessive sweating and irregular heartbeat.

You are not supposed to take Lexapro if you have shown allergy to it in the past. If you have ever shown allergy to citalopram ( Celexa) you are most likely to show allergy to Lexapro as well. Do not take Lexapro and Celexa at the same time. You may need special dosage adjustment and monitoring when taking this medicine, if you suffer from any hearth disease, liver disease, have seizures, mania or any suicidal thoughts. It is not proved that Lexapro can be harmful for an unborn baby. For your best safety, do not take it if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant or you are breast feeder. It is known that Lexapro passes into the breast milk and can be dangerous for you baby.
