Patanol is mainly prescribed in cases of red eyes, eye itching and similar allergy symptoms. It is produced as a liquid drop, easy to be used. Patanol belongs to the group of anti allergic drugs and should be taken only under doctor’s prescription.


How Taken


When using Patanol, follow your doctor’s prescription very precisely. The common dosage is a drop of the medicine in each eye once every 6 to 8 hours. Do not exceed your dose. Do not use Patanol more than 2 times a day.


Missed Dose


For best results, try not to miss your daily schedule. In case it happens, take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. Do not overdose by trying to catch up.


Storage


Keep Patanol at a temperature between 39°F to 86°F (4°C to 30°C). Keep away from moisture. Keep away from children’s reach.


Overdose


Overdosing with Patanol has not been registered. In case you put more of the medicine than prescribed, contact your doctor for further assistance. It is recommended to drink more liquid that you usually do.


More Information


If you are wearing eye lenses, take them out before using Patanol. They can not be combined with this medicine, because of the Benzalkomiun Chloride it contains. When you put Patanol into your eyes, wait at least 15 minutes before you put your contact lenses on. Remember that the dropper of the medicine is sterile and must not touch any surface, even your eyes. It can transmit diseases. It is not recommended to use Patanol with other eye medicines, unless prescribed from your medical provider.

In case you are suffering from any fungal or viral eye infection, bacterial eye infection, advise your doctor before start taking Patanol. It is not recommended to use Patanol if you are receiving any specific treatment at the moment. This medicine belongs to FDA pregnancy category C and there are no data if it can be harmful for an unborn baby. For your best safety do not take Patanol if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant during treatment or you are a breast feeder. Patanol is not prescribed to children under the age of 3 years.

Possible Side Effects


Possible side effect caused by Patanol is not likely to appear. In case it happens, the patient may experience the common symptoms of allergic reaction – difficult breathing, swelling of the face, lips and tongue. Less slight side effects can be headache, swollen eyelids, strange mouth taste, itching eyes and stuffy nose. If you experience any of the symptoms listed above, continue using Patanol but only under your doctor’s supervision.
