Nasonex is used when the patient suffers from seasonal or perennial allergy. The medicine has a wide range of applications, including runny and itchy nose, sneezing and congestions as a result from dust, pets or tree and grass pollen. Nasonex belongs to corticosteroids, which are known for its effect on multiple cell types and anti-inflammatory properties.
How Taken
Before start using Nasonex, ask your doctor for special dosage adjustment and period of application. Nasonex comes as a nasal pump spray. The medicine is sprayed twice in each nostril once a day. Continue the treatment as long as your doctor advises you. Do not take Nasonex more than prescribed and do not exceed the daily dose. In case you suffer from seasonal allergy, start using the medicine 2-4 weeks before the season has started. You will start feeling better after the first days of treatment, but you need to continue the full treatment for best results.
Missed Dose
Nasonex nasal spray is used once a day. If it happens to miss your daily dose, spray it as soon as you can. If the time for your regular dose has come, take only one dose. Do not spray more than prescribed and after your treatment period is over. Do not overdose by trying to catch up.
Storage
Keep Nasonex in its original container. Keep in a dark place away from direct light. The most appropriate temperature for storage is at 25°C (77°F), during excursion from 15 to 30°C (59-86°F). Store where no children can reach it.
Overdose
It is not likely to overdose with Nasonex. No overdose symptoms are registered. If you suspect overdose, call your doctor or visit the local poison center.
